IIT Mandi is an Institute of National Importance at Kamand, Mandi. The School of Chemical Sciences runs chemistry research. This notice is a regular full-time PhD seat for the semester that starts in January 2027. It is not a faculty job and not a project staff walk-in.

M.Tech or equivalent in chemical engineering / chemical technology / other relevant disciplines, or BS-MS / M.Sc. or equivalent in Chemistry or Chemical Sciences (all branches) or relevant disciplines. B.Tech / B.E. / B.S. or equivalent in chemical engineering, chemical technology, Chemistry or Chemical Sciences is also listed. National exam or two years’ experience applies to BS-MS / M.Sc. / B.Tech / B.E. / B.S., except self-sponsored. GATE or national-exam exemption: B.Tech / B.E. / B.S. from a CFTI, a top-100 NIRF overall institute, or a Himachal Pradesh government institution or university, with CGPA at least 7.5 (General/EWS), 7.25 (OBC-NCL) or 7.0 (SC/ST/PWD). BS-MS / M.Sc. from IITs, IISERs, IISc, IIMs or top-100 NIRF overall with the same CGPA bands. Candidates finishing the qualifying degree in 2026 may apply if they have the original degree or at least a provisional marksheet at admission. Employed candidates need a no-objection certificate at the interview.
