- Backed by a total budget of ₹50,000 crore over five years, the ANRF replaces the former Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB).
- A major structural shift in this new policy is the emphasis on industry-academia collaborations, with the government aiming for 70% of the funding to be mobilized from the private sector to ensure research remains market-relevant.
2. AIIMS Deploys Blockchain for Massive Faculty Recruitment
- In a major technological milestone for medical and academic administration, AIIMS New Delhi declared the results for over 460 vacant faculty posts using highly secure blockchain digital technology.
- Spanning more than 50 disciplines at AIIMS New Delhi and the AIIMS-CAPFIMS campus, the rigorous six-month recruitment process evaluated over 3,200 candidates.
- To ensure absolute confidentiality and transparency, candidates’ evaluation marks were digitally locked using one-time passwords.
- The final merit lists were generated entirely by software algorithms with zero human intervention, drastically speeding up the declaration of results.
3. IIT Faculty Recruitment and New Academic Sessions

- IIT Guwahati’s Mehta Family School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DS&AI) recently welcomed its newly inducted cohort of BTech, MTech, and PhD scholars.
