Last updated: 6 September 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how Campus Reality (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you visit campusreality.in. Campus Reality is an independent editorial website. It is not a public anonymous posting board. By using the site you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

Campus Reality is run from Tirupati, India. Editorial questions, corrections and grievances go to contact.campusreality@gmail.com. See Contact for how to write to us.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run an editorial site and to reply when you write to us.

If you email us. Name, email address, the page URL you mention, and whatever you put in the message. We use that to answer, correct a notice, or handle a complaint. We do not sell it.
Server logs. IP address, browser type, device, pages requested and time of access. Used for security, spam control and to keep the site up.
Cookies and similar storage. Technical cookies that keep the site working, plus advertising cookies described below. You can block cookies in your browser; some parts of the site may then work less well.

We do not require an account to read the site. We do not ask for Aadhaar, bank details or marksheets to use Campus Reality. Do not send identity documents unless we specifically ask for them to handle a legal request.

3. Advertising and Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense and may show ads on editorial pages. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also visit www.google.com/settings/ads. We do not place ads on pages that exist only to host user-generated posts, because those public boards are not offered on this site.

4. How we use information

To publish and improve independent campus journalism and notice summaries.
To reply to corrections, listing requests and grievances.
To keep the site secure and to measure what pages are used.
To show ads that help keep the site free to read.

5. Sharing and legal requests

We do not sell mailing lists. We may share information with hosting, email and analytics providers who process it only to provide that service. We may disclose log data or correspondence if required by Indian law, a court order, or a valid request from a lawful authority investigating a crime or a threat to safety.

6. Children

Campus Reality is written for college students, graduates, teachers and staff. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. How long we keep data

Emails and complaint files are kept as long as needed to answer you and to meet legal record-keeping. Server logs are rotated in the ordinary course of hosting. You can ask us to delete an email thread you sent; we will do that unless we must keep it for a legal reason.

8. Your requests

To access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you from a message you sent, write to contact.campusreality@gmail.com from that same address and say what you want done. We aim to reply within 72 hours on working days.

9. Grievance officer

10. Changes
