Official Details

CSIR-CFTRI short-term internship 2026 is a two-month training block at the Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysuru. Applications are taken through the year. The official page says the mail must go at least one month before the start date you want. Apply page — cftri.res.in/internship. Mail only hrd@cftri.res.in with subject line Internship.

What this internship actually is

An internship here is a short lab attachment so you can finish a college project or course requirement. You stay enrolled in your own college. You are not joining CSIR as project staff, JRF or scientist.

CSIR-CFTRI is a Council of Scientific and Industrial Research lab under the Ministry of Science and Technology. The Mysuru campus works on food science and food technology — processing, safety, nutrition and related lab methods. The page says the internship has a brief research component under a mentor. This is not the CSIR-NEIST Jorhat window already on our board, and it is not a paid DRDO intern seat.

What kind of seat this is

Offline, Mysuru only. Duration on the official page:

  • Individual student — 2 months only
  • College group of 15 to 30 students — maximum 1 month, described as an exposure visit

CFTRI will not give hostel rooms. No stipend line is printed. You pay a fee after they accept the mail. No bond is printed.

Who should apply — and who should skip

Apply if you are currently doing graduation or post-graduation in another university or academic institution, you already have 60% in the completed semesters of that degree (50% if you are SC/ST), your HoD will sign a recommendation on college letterhead with seal, dates and duration, and you can pay the fee and arrange your own stay in Mysuru.

Skip if you need a stipend, you cannot pay ₹11,800 (or the SC/ST concession amount) before joining, you have already finished the degree, you want a six-month DRDO-style paid intern, or a WhatsApp form is asking you to “book a CFTRI seat”. Also skip if your college will not give a dated recommendation letter. The page wants that letter. A self-written PDF is not a substitute.
