What CSIR-NGRI actually does
CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute is a research lab of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, under the Ministry of Science and Technology. It sits on Uppal Road in Hyderabad and works on earth science — earthquakes, groundwater, minerals and related lab work. These 21 seats are regular technician posts that keep workshops, networks, labs, the dispensary and the canteen running. They are not scientist posts.
What kind of role this is
Regular Group II (1) technician posts, Pay Level-2 of the 7th CPC (Rs 19,900–63,200). The notice puts approximate gross emoluments at Rs 39,970 on minimum pay including HRA in a Class X city. DA, transport allowance, medical reimbursement, LTC and children’s education allowance follow CSIR rules. New entrants come under the National Pension System. Council accommodation, if allotted, means no HRA. Posting is at CSIR-NGRI, Hyderabad. Women candidates are encouraged to apply. No bond is printed.
Who should apply — and who should skip
Apply if you are an Indian national, not above 28 years on 4 October 2026 (before category relaxation), and you have SSC or 10th with Science subjects and at least 55% marks, plus one of three trade routes: an ITI or National/State trade certificate in the named trade, or two years as a full-time apprentice in that trade, or three years of work in that trade in a Ministry, department, PSU or autonomous body under the Centre, a State or a UT.
Skip if your 10th has no Science subjects, or Science marks are below 55%. A general ITI that is not the printed trade will not fit. Electrician is reserved for an ex-serviceman. Plumber is an SC seat. Computer / IT Assistant is the only large row (11 posts). One post in that row is horizontally reserved for PwBD orthopaedic and one for hard of hearing. Do not pay anyone outside SBI Collect.

- Shortlisted candidates are called for a trade test of practical knowledge against the job requirement of that post.
- The notice says the trade test follows the method prescribed by the Government for direct recruitment by trade test or written test.

How to apply without getting played
- Read the trade row before you register. The portal will not move a COPA certificate onto the Electrician seat.
- Create one email and keep it active. A second email does not give you a second valid form.
- Pay Rs 500 only on SBI Collect to Director, CSIR-NGRI, for Technician(1) Advt 01/2026. SC, ST and PwBD follow the exemption lines above.
- Submit before 4 October 2026, 6:00 pm. Sunday closing still counts.
- Save the acknowledgement. No hard copy.
