What SSPL actually does

Solid State Physics Laboratory (SSPL), DRDO, works on advanced semiconductor materials and devices. Research covers compound semiconductors, MEMS, MMICs, acoustic sensors, laser diodes, IR sensors and nanotechnology. The lab is located at Lucknow Road, Timarpur, Delhi.

What kind of role this is

Six-month paid internship (minimum 4 weeks, maximum 6 months). Only candidates offered the full 6-month slot receive the stipend. Location is Delhi only. No bond is printed. Boarding, lodging, transport and medical expenses are the student’s responsibility. Completion does not guarantee employment at DRDO.

Who should apply — and who should skip

Apply if you are currently in the final year / last semester of B.E./B.Tech or M.Sc./M.Tech (or equivalent) in Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Electrical, Material Science, Quantum Technology, Laser Optics or Semiconductor Device from a recognised institute, and you can report to Timarpur, Delhi for the internship starting December 2026 / January 2027.

Skip if you have already graduated, you are not in the last semester, your discipline is outside the listed streams, you cannot arrange a hard-copy submission with college recommendation letter and character certificate by 30 September, or you need a remote internship.
