Official Details

FSSAI internship October December 2026 is the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India circular dated 21 September 2026 (File No. HR-33012/3/2026-HR-FSSAI). Applications opened 22 September 2026. Last date to submit the online form — 1 October 2026. Apply only on sites.fssai.gov.in/internship. Detailed circular — FSSAI advertisement PDF.

If the words on this page feel new, start here. FSSAI is the central body that writes food-safety rules and checks whether factories, labs and importers follow them. An internship here is office or lab work on a short project — not a Food Safety Officer job and not a campus placement PPO.

What FSSAI actually does

FSSAI sits under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It sets science-based standards for food sold in India and for food that comes in through ports. Interns are attached to a division at Headquarters in New Delhi, a Regional Office, or a National Food Laboratory. The circular says the work is on food regulation and food-safety administration, not a sales internship at a packaged-food brand.

What kind of internship this is

This is a quarterly unpaid-until-recommended attachment under Internship Scheme 2024. Minimum duration printed — 2 months. Maximum — 6 months. Anything shorter than 2 months is not offered. Preference written on the form is not a confirmed city. The office allots the division after scrutiny.

Places named on the circular: FSSAI (HQ) New Delhi; Regional Offices — WRO Mumbai, NRO Ghaziabad, SRO Chennai; National Food Laboratories — NFL Ghaziabad, NFL Kolkata, Testing and Food Sampling centre Raxaul (NFL Kolkata extension), NFL Chennai and NFL Mumbai.

Who should apply — and who should skip

Apply if you are still a full-time student on a recognised campus in India or abroad, and your degree sits in one printed stream: food science / life-science PG or B.Tech/BE; management and related social-science fields; journalism or public relations PG; third or fourth year computer-science / IT B.E. or B.Tech; public policy PG (HQ only); law; or B.Com / equivalent as printed in stream (g).

Skip if you have already finished the course. The circular line is that students who have completed the listed programmes need not apply. Also skip if you are in first or second year of a CS/IT B.Tech — stream (d) is only 3rd and 4th year. Skip if you cannot join within about a week of the joining date they later print. Skip if someone on WhatsApp asks for a registration fee. This form does not sell seats.
