What Google actually does
Google designs its own chips (TPUs and other silicon) for Cloud and AI work, not only software. The Silicon Engineering team works on hardware system integration, digital design, verification, physical design, FPGAs, embedded systems and memory. This internship sits in that hardware-side group in the India offices. It is a private-company role, not a government lab or college project.
What kind of role this is
This is a Silicon Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. Preferred note says full-time for 12 weeks outside university term time. It is paid. The exact stipend is not printed. You work with teams building Google Cloud Silicon products. The work is in-person. You can choose Bengaluru or Hyderabad when you apply.
Who should apply — and who should skip
Apply if you are currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, you have used C++, Python, Verilog, UVM, or Synopsys and Cadence tools, and you have worked in areas like hardware system integration, digital design verification, ASIC physical design, FPGAs, embedded systems or memory systems.
Skip if you are only in B.Tech or M.Tech without a PhD seat, you cannot be in Bengaluru or Hyderabad for the summer, or you want a pure software-coding role with no hardware interest. This card is for silicon / hardware-oriented PhD students.
