Age Limits & Relaxations
The primary age limit is capped at 35 years as of the closing date, August 24, 2026. However, candidates applying under reserved quotas can avail of the following age relaxations:
- OBC Candidates: Up to 38 years
- SC Candidates: Up to 40 years
- Govt Employees, Ex-Servicemen, & Persons with Disabilities: Relaxations as per standard Government of India orders.
Selection Methodology
The selection scheme is systematic, focusing on testing practical subject knowledge alongside administrative acumen.
- Dual Phase Structure: Written Test (60% weightage) + Personal Interview (40% weightage).
- Venue: The written examination will take place exclusively in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
- Shortlisting Ratio: Top scorers in the written test will be shortlisted for the personal interview phase at a ratio of 1:5 (minimum 10 candidates).
- Minimum Qualifying Standards: To clear the selection framework, candidates must secure at least 50% in the written test and interview individually, with an aggregate score of 60% overall.

The non-refundable application fee is ₹250. However, all applicants are required to initially submit a payment of ₹750 during the online portal process.
Refund Structure:
- Women, SC, ST, PwBD, & Ex-Servicemen: 100% refund of ₹750 upon attending the written exam.
- UR, OBC, & EWS candidates: Partial refund of ₹500 upon attending the written exam.
- Note: Candidates failing to appear for the exam will forfeit the entire deposit. Accurate bank accounts and IFSC codes must be submitted during registration.
Written Test Syllabus & Preparation Tips
The written exam spans 2.5 Hours (150 minutes). It is designed with a hybrid marking scheme consisting of objective and descriptive parts:
Common Subjects (Parts A & B)
Part-A (Objective MCQ – 36 Questions): General Studies, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. (3 marks for correct answer, -1 mark for incorrect answer).
Part-B (Objective MCQ – 32 Questions): Graduation-level English Grammar. (3 marks for correct answer, -1 mark for incorrect answer).
Domain Specific Subjects (Part-C – 36 MCQs)
- Administrative Officer: Constitution of India (including Reservations), Industrial Disputes Act, Workmen’s Compensation Act, Contract Labour Regulation Act, Apprentices Act, RTI Act 2005, Minimum Wages Act, and principles of HRM & OB.
- Accounts Officer: Auditing principles, Costing, Balance Sheet analysis, Ratio analysis, Management Accounting, Mercantile Law, Banking Practices, Taxation, and Macro/Micro Economics basics.
- Purchase & Stores Officer: Materials Management, Import/Export Policies, Central/State Taxes & Duties, Inventory Management, Indian Contract Act, Sale of Goods Act, E-procurement processes, and Capital Budgeting.
Descriptive Section (Part-D)
Consists of 2 Questions (10 marks each) covering Précis writing, Essay writing, Comprehension, and official Letter writing. Note: Candidates must pass Parts A, B, and C for Part D to be evaluated.

Yes, supervisory experience is mandatory if applying with degrees other than ACA/FCA/AICWA. The experience must be equivalent to Central Pay Level 6 (₹35,400+ Basic Pay) in Gov/PSU/Autonomous structures or an equivalent scale in reputed private commercial firms.
No. PRL does not provide Scribes directly. PwBD candidates must arrange their own scribe. The scribe’s academic qualification must be one step below the minimum qualification required for the candidate’s applied post, and declarations must be submitted 7 days prior to the exam.
