Official Details

SEBI legal internship 2026 follows the standing Legal Department guidelines. The next form window is 1 to 7 October 2026 for a November internship. Apply only on sebi.gov.in legal internship portal. Guidelines PDF — GUIDELINES_FOR_LEGAL_INTERNSHIP.pdf.

First, what SEBI actually does

The Securities and Exchange Board of India regulates the securities market — stock exchanges, mutual funds, listed companies. A legal intern sits with the Legal Department and reads securities-law files. This is not SEBI Grade A recruitment. It is also not the separate SEBI Young Professional Program, whose 2026 domain results were already published through June 2026.

What kind of internship this is

On-site legal intern. Tenure printed: not less than four weeks, starting on the first working day of the month. Office hours printed: 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM on working days, and other days if required. Head Office in Mumbai runs through the year. Regional offices open only in the months printed below. A stipend of ₹10,000 may be paid after the certificate is issued — the word on the PDF is “may”, not a guaranteed monthly salary.

Who should apply — and who should skip

Apply if all of these printed lines are true on the date of the form:

  • You study at a law school / university recognised by the Bar Council of India and the UGC.
  • You are in the 4th or final year of a five-year law programme, or the 2nd or final year of a three-year law programme.
  • You have at least 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA in previous semester results. Only the percentage equivalent certified by the institution on the cover letter is used.
  • You are below 28 years.
  • You can upload a signed, stamped cover letter on the college letterhead in the Annexure I format. No cover letter in that format = the application is not considered.

Skip if you have already appeared in the final semester exam (that line bars you), you need a remote intern, you want Delhi / Kolkata / Ahmedabad / Chennai in a month those offices are shut, or a coaching site is selling a “SEBI legal intern slot”.

  1. Wait for 1 October 2026 if you want November. A form sent on 8 October is late for that month.
