UCEED 2027 admission — Class 12, regular close 31 Oct

UCEED 2027 admission is the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design, run by IIT Bombay, for Bachelor of Design seats. The official 2027 page says online registration with regular fees starts at 5 pm on 1 October 2026 and the deadline is 31 October 2026. Apply only on uceed.iitb.ac.in/2027. This is not CEED. CEED is the postgraduate design test. A Class 12 student who files CEED by mistake has paid the wrong form.

What UCEED actually does

UCEED is the entrance used for BDes at participating IITs and at other institutes that take the score. IIT Bombay only conducts the test and the common admission process. A rank is not a hostel seat. You still have to fill the BDes application and accept a seat in the rounds that follow the result. The institute page warns candidates not to pay anyone who calls about admission. Use only the UCEED website.

What kind of seat this is

BDes is a four-year undergraduate design degree. Science, commerce, and arts and humanities students can sit. You do not need physics and mathematics for the form, unlike many engineering tests. The seat, if you get one, is at a participating institute, not automatically at IIT Bombay.

Who should apply — and who should skip

Apply if you passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam in 2026, or you are appearing for it in 2027, in any stream. That sentence is on the UCEED 2027 page. Read the information brochure on the same site for age and attempt rules before you pay. Those lines are not in the short announcement.

Skip if you already finished Class 12 before 2026. The page we opened names 2026 pass-outs and 2027 appearing students. Skip if you want MDes. That form is CEED. Skip any caller who asks for a seat-acceptance fee before the official round. The 2026 page already told candidates to avoid fraudsters. The same rule holds for 2027.

2. Pay only the slab printed in the 2027 brochure. The announcement block does not print a rupee figure.
3. Do not pay a seat fee until an official allotment mail arrives from the UCEED portal.
