VNIT Nagpur M.Tech Research admission 2027 — form by 23 November

VNIT Nagpur M.Tech Research admission 2027 is a January 2027 working-professional window, not the regular CCMT M.Tech. Last date on the advertisement for the Google Form and the hard copy — 23 November 2026. The dates sheet prints a later hard-copy line of 25 November 2026. Use 23 November as the safe close. Apply from the VNIT admission page. Advertisement — M.Tech (Research) PDF. Dates — important dates PDF.

What this programme actually is

VNIT Nagpur is an Institute of National Importance. A normal M.Tech is a two-year taught degree, usually through CCMT and a GATE score. This notice is different. It is M.Tech (Research) on supernumerary seats, meaning seats added on top of the regular intake. The institute runs 23 M.Tech programmes and is offering 5 extra seats in each, so 115 seats. GATE is not mandatory. You need a degree and five years of work.

Coursework is short: 4 to 5 courses plus Research Methodology. You can take department courses and NPTEL or MOOCs. Duration printed is 3 to 5 years. That is a long part-time style research master’s, not a campus hostel M.Tech.

Who should apply — and who should skip

Apply if you have a B.E., B.Tech, B.Arch or equivalent in a relevant discipline, with CGPA 6.0 or equivalent, and at least 5 years of industry or teaching experience. Non-teaching staff of academic institutions can apply if they have at least 5 years. Engineering, architecture and interdisciplinary domains are listed as open.

Skip if you are a final-year student with no job years. This is not a fresher seat. Skip if you need a GATE-based stipend — the advertisement does not print a stipend. Skip if you only want the regular CCMT M.Tech; that counselling is a different window. Skip a form that is not linked from vnit.ac.in.

How to apply without getting played

1. Open the Google Form only from the VNIT admission page. The page also lists a form link; do not use a forwarded edit link.
2. Fee is not printed on the short ad. Do not pay a person who says they can “confirm” one of the 115 seats.
3. Keep proof of the five years. The ad makes experience essential, not optional.
4. This is not the PhD January 2027 form. That hard copy closes on 2 November 2026.
