Azim Premji University UG admission 2027 Round 1 for BA and BSc programmes closes on 20 November 2026. The university page says it is inviting applications for Admissions 2027. Apply on apply.azimpremjiuniversity.edu.in. The calendar is on the undergraduate admissions calendar. Fee and age rules are on the FAQ page.

What Azim Premji University actually does

Azim Premji University is a private, not-for-profit university. The FAQ says its degrees are recognised by the UGC under Section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956. Campuses named on the FAQ are Bengaluru and Bhopal.

This window is for undergraduate study after Class 12, not for a job and not for a stipend. The calendar we opened lists four-year BA Honours and BSc Honours programmes, plus teacher-education programmes. A student who only wants an engineering entrance should not treat this form as a JEE substitute.

What kind of seat this Azim Premji University UG admission 2027 is

Round 1 on the calendar is for BA and BSc programmes. The national entrance test is on 20 December 2026. Personal interviews are 4 to 8 January 2027. Classes start in August 2027. The FAQ says you can apply for a maximum of two programmes, and the second preference depends on seats being available.

Class 12 marks are not used for selection. You still have to show that you completed Grade 12 or an equivalent exam before you join. Boards named on the FAQ include ISC, CBSE, state boards, NIOS, IB and Cambridge International A levels.

Who should apply — and who should skip

Apply if you are in Class 12 now, or you have already passed Grade 12 from a recognised board, and you will be at least 17 years and 6 months on 1 July 2027 and not older than 21 years on that date. If your age is between 19 and 21 you have to submit a statement of purpose. Candidates with disabilities get a relaxation of up to 5 years on the upper age limit.

Skip if you will be under 17 years and 6 months on 1 July 2027, or over 21 on that date without the disability relaxation. Skip if you cannot sit the entrance test in India. The FAQ says test centres are located in India. Skip if someone asks you to pay more than Rs 500 to “confirm” a seat before the test. The application fee stays Rs 500 even for two programmes.

How to prepare (free, official)

How to apply without getting played

  1. Use the university apply link. Do not pay a third-party site that says it can reserve a Bengaluru or Bhopal seat.
  2. Pick at most two programmes. The second choice is not a guaranteed backup.
  3. Pay Rs 500 on the official portal and save the receipt.
  4. If you are 19 to 21 on 1 July 2027, write the statement of purpose the FAQ asks for. Missing it is an incomplete form.
  5. Book the test only after the portal tells you the centre. The FAQ does not print a city list.
  6. Need-based scholarships can cover tuition and accommodation. The FAQ does not print a cutoff income. Do not pay anyone to “arrange” a scholarship.
