Spices Board trainee development 2026 is Notification No. 12/2026 dated 1 October 2026, file ADM/SET-GEN/01/2020-21/KAR. It selects 21 Trainee (Development) seats, exclusively for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates. The last date to submit the online application is 19 October 2026. Apply at spicesboard.in/recruitment. The notice is listed on indianspices.com opportunities. A candidate who has not applied online will not be allowed into the written test.

What Spices Board actually does

Spices Board is a statutory body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The head office is Sugandha Bhavan, N.H. Bypass, Palarivattom, Kochi 682025. It works on spice export, quality and development through regional, divisional and field offices. This notice is not a scientist or officer recruitment. It is a two-year training attachment in those offices.

The Board writes, in point 16 of the notice, that selection as Trainee (Development) is only a training. It is not linked to a regular appointment and cannot be regularised at any stage.

What kind of seat this Spices Board trainee development 2026 is

Training stipend is Rs 20,000 per month. If the trainee travels to spice fields, travelling allowance is paid. Training runs for two years from the date of joining. Leave is one day per month. The count of 21 is provisional and can change at selection. You can be posted in any office of the Board under the region you are selected for.

No UR or OBC roster is printed. The whole notification is only for SC and ST candidates. One trainee is required at each listed office.

Who should apply — and who should skip

Apply if you are an SC or ST candidate, you hold a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Botany, Microbiology or Biotechnology from a recognised university, you have working knowledge of a computer, and you are not over 35 years on the date of the written test. You must already have the final degree certificate. The notice says those who have not received the final degree need not appear. You must also obtain the original degree within two years of a provisional certificate.

Skip if you are not SC or ST, if you already trained in any Spices Board office (completed or not), or if you want a permanent government post. No TA or DA is paid for attending the written test. Canvassing is a disqualification.
