“Renewal only” means the scheme is taking renewals from current scholars, not fresh applications, this year. Amounts and eligibility differ for each scheme. Open the scheme’s guidelines on NSP before you apply. We haven’t copied amounts here, because some schemes update them every year.

How do I apply on NSP?

  1. Go to scholarships.gov.in and complete One-Time Registration (OTR). You need OTR before any application.
  2. Log in under “Students” → “Apply for Scholarship”.
  3. Choose “Apply Fresh” (or “Renewal”), pick the scheme and fill in the form.
  4. Upload the documents the scheme asks for, then submit by 31 Oct.
  5. Tell your institute’s nodal officer you’ve applied. Your form needs their verification by 15 Nov.
  6. Track the status by logging in again.

Students with disabilities: NSP asks you to log in to the UDID portal first and consent to share your UDID details. Without this, you can’t submit the form.

Need help applying? Common Service Centres (CSCs) can fill in the form for a small fee. Find one at locator.csccloud.in.

Checklist before you submit

  • ☐ Mark sheets, income certificate and category certificate, as the scheme asks
  • ☐ Only one merit-based scheme chosen
  • ☐ Institute told and verification followed up before 15 Nov
