University of Hyderabad PhD admission 2026 is the September 2026 session continuation dated 24 September 2026 of the 1 September 2026 notice. Last date to submit the online form for all 17 programmes — 10 October 2026, Saturday. Apply only on acad.uohyd.ac.in. The continuation PDF is on the same academic site: PHD_26_NET.PDF.
What the University of Hyderabad actually does
The University of Hyderabad is a central university set up by an Act of Parliament. The campus is in Hyderabad. This window is a PhD seat, not a bachelor’s counselling and not a job.
A PhD is a research degree after a master’s (or, where the notice prints it, a four-year honours-with-research degree). You do not sit in a regular classroom for four years. A department interviews you, then a supervisor guides a thesis. This particular call uses UGC-NET or CSIR-UGC-NET scores. It is not a fresh entrance test run by the university.
What kind of seat this is
This is PhD admission for the September 2026 session. English and Translation Studies were held back on the 1 September notice because those NET results were not out. The 24 September continuation opens those two and extends the last date for all 17 programmes in Annexure-1 to 10 October 2026. Classes start date is not printed on this continuation. Interview dates will be notified on the university website. No personal email is promised.
Who should apply — and who should skip
Apply if you already have a UGC-NET or CSIR-UGC-NET score in the subject the row asks for, and your master’s marks meet the line printed for that subject (55% in most arts and science rows, 60% in Computer Science and Electronics).
Skip if you are in Class 12, if you want a BA or BSc seat, or if you have no NET score. A GATE score is not the printed route on this notice. Also skip if your master’s is in a subject that is not listed as eligible for that row.
