NEET PG answer key: what you can see, and what you cannot

Share

The NEET PG answer key is now inside the candidate login, and it does not show the question paper. If you sat NEET PG 2026, open natboard.edu.in this week, save a screenshot of your own sheet, and do not pay anyone who says they can “challenge the key” for you. There is no objection window in the notices NBEMS put out on 24 September and 1 October 2026.

This page is for MBBS graduates who took the exam. Class 12 students can still read it. NEET PG is the national entrance test for MD, MS and postgraduate medical seats. It is not NEET UG, which is the test after Class 12 for MBBS. If you are in Class 12, skip the login steps. The useful part for you is how an official key is supposed to work, and how agents sell panic.

What NEET PG answer key actually shows

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) ran NEET PG 2026 on 30 August and 5 September. The result was already out before this key. By 4 October 2026, candidates could open an individual answer key and scorecard from the applicant login. The Indian Express reported what is on that screen, and what is missing.

You can see:

  • Section-wise question IDs, in the order they appeared on your paper
  • Whether you answered a question or left it
  • The correct option ID, written as 1, 2, 3 or 4
  • The option you marked
  • The marks given for that question

You cannot see the words of the question, or the words of the correct option. NBEMS shuffled questions inside each section. So the same question ID does not mean the same question for every candidate. A doctor who spoke to The Indian Express said they cannot recall which ID was which question. That is why many candidates called the key an eyewash. The complaint is about the format, not about a secret second result.

Why a key exists at all

An answer key is a list of correct options, so a candidate can check the board’s arithmetic. In April 2025 the Supreme Court told NBEMS to publish raw scores, answer keys and normalisation details, so the process is not a black box. NBEMS said in the information bulletin that it would release keys and response sheets for that reason. The September and October notices did not open a window to raise objections. A petition in the Supreme Court is asking for a time-bound objection window before counselling. Until the Court or NBEMS says otherwise, there is no official form to file a challenge.

Normalisation is the extra step when an exam is held in more than one shift. A hard shift and an easy shift should not punish the people who got the hard paper. The board adjusts scores so the shifts can be compared. You will not reverse-engineer that formula from option IDs alone. If your scorecard and the key’s question-wise marks do not match, that mismatch is the only thing worth writing down.

What to do this week

Do this only on the official site, natboard.edu.in.

  • Log in with the same details you used for the application.
  • Open the NEET PG 2026 answer key and the scorecard.
  • Screenshot every section. Save a PDF if the site allows a download.
  • Check that the marks on the key add up to the score on the scorecard.
  • Note the date and time you downloaded it. Counselling dates move. The official notice wins.

Who should skip: anyone who did not sit NEET PG 2026. A parent, a coaching centre, or a Class 12 student cannot open this login. Also skip if a Telegram channel asks for your password “to check the key”. NBEMS will not ask for a fee to view your own key.

Who is selling the gap

The gap is real. Without the question text, you cannot sit with a textbook and say “this option is wrong.” Agents use that gap. They offer a paid “challenge pack”, a leaked paper, or a promise that your rank will change before counselling. None of that is on the NBEMS notice. Paying them does not create an objection window. Sharing your login can lock you out of the only page that has your sheet.

If a counselling schedule appears, read it on natboard.edu.in or the Medical Counselling Committee site, not on a poster. Campus Reality’s admissions board is for college admission notices. It is not the NEET PG counselling portal. The same rule we use for job PDFs applies here: if the date, fee or eligibility is not on the official page, treat it as unverified. The recruitment PDF guide is written for job notices, but the fake-fee pattern is the same.

A short note for Class 12

NEET UG, after Class 12, is a different exam, run by a different body. Do not mix the two keys. When your own answer key comes out, check three things: Is it on the official domain? Can you see the question, or only a code? Is there a printed last date for objections? If the third item is missing, no one can sell you a challenge.

For NEET PG 2026, the clock this week is your own login, not a coaching deadline. Save the sheet. Match the marks. Wait for NBEMS or the Court on objections. Do not pay to invent a window that the notice does not have.
