Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is a Maharatna company under the Ministry of Defence. It designs, builds, repairs and upgrades aircraft, helicopters, aero-engines, accessories and avionics. This is a short-term engagement, not a regular executive appointment. Selected people are inducted in the E0 pay scale (2017) of Rs 30,000–1,20,000. Tenure is a maximum of 3 years from the date of joining. It ends on its own after 3 years. There is no further extension. Either side can end it earlier with one month’s notice, or by paying Basic plus DA in place of notice.
Posting can be at production, overhaul, service, R&D or office locations at Bengaluru and Tumakuru (Karnataka), Hyderabad (Telangana), Nasik (Maharashtra), Koraput (Odisha), Barrackpore (West Bengal), Lucknow, Kanpur and Korwa (Uttar Pradesh). Transfer to any HAL division, office or base is part of the terms. The advertisement says this engagement does not give a right to claim regular executive status.
Who should apply — and who should skip
Apply if you have a regular full-time degree in engineering or technology from a university recognised in India, in the exact discipline you pick, with 60% aggregate (50% if you are SC, ST or PwBD). The degree pattern on the notice is 10+2+4, or 10+3+3 for lateral entry into engineering. A 5-year or 6-year integrated degree in the relevant branch is also eligible. You must not be above 28 years as on 17 October 2026 if you are UR or EWS, before category relaxation.

Pay on this engagement
Basic pay is Rs 30,000. Dearness allowance is revised quarterly on basic. House rent allowance follows the city class if a company quarter is not given. Cafeteria allowance is 35% of basic. A 3% annual increment on basic is admissible in the second and third year. Medical insurance reimbursement is capped at Rs 25,000 a year for a policy of up to Rs 10 lakh; proof is due within three months. These officers do not get HAL dispensary medical cover. Leave follows the company rules named for regular officers, including vacation leave encashment when the tenure ends. Company quarters, where available, may be allotted. No other allowance is promised.
