IBBI internship December 2026 follows the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India Internship Guidelines, 2023. Interns are taken from December 2023 onwards under those guidelines. For a December 2026 start, the application should reach at least 30 days before the first working day of December, so send it by 1 November 2026. Email only intern@ibbi.gov.in with the annexed form and the school recommendation. Guidelines PDF: IBBI Internship Guidelines, 2023. The November 2026 window on this site already closed. This page is the next month, not a second copy of that notice.
What IBBI actually does
IBBI is the regulator for insolvency and bankruptcy in India under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. In plain words, when a company cannot pay its debts, this law sets the steps for a resolution plan or for liquidation. IBBI writes rules for insolvency professionals, information utilities and valuation work, and it watches those professionals. The internship is a one-month student seat inside that office, not a job as an insolvency professional and not a coaching course.
What kind of internship this is
It is ordinarily one month, from the first working day to the last working day of the month. IBBI may end it at any time without giving a reason, or extend it by up to one more month. No leave is allowed. If IBBI accepts that an absence was unavoidable, the internship is extended by those days without stipend. No bond is printed. No application fee is printed. Stipend is a lump sum of ₹10,000 per month. The number of interns in a month is decided by a committee of officers from the requests received and from what IBBI needs that month. No category-wise vacancy split is printed on this notice. The guidelines do not print a city line. IBBI’s office work is in New Delhi. Confirm the joining desk on the offer mail.
Who should apply — and who should skip
Apply if you are still enrolled and you match one of these two lines from the 2023 guidelines:
- You are pursuing a five-year or three-year degree in law, or a postgraduate course in Economics, Commerce, Finance, Management or Law, in a recognised school, college, institute or university.
- You are pursuing M.Phil. or Ph.D. in Economics, Commerce, Finance, Management or Law in a recognised school.
You also need a recommendation from the competent authority of that school, a copy of the student identity card, a recent passport-size colour photograph, a 200-word note on why you want this internship, and a 500-word note on your understanding of the dissertation subject.
Skip if you have already passed out and are not enrolled. The guidelines say “a student who is pursuing” the course. Skip if your college will not sign the recommendation. Incomplete forms and forms without the recommendation are not considered. Skip if you need a remote certificate, or if a website that is not ibbi.gov.in asks for a fee. Class 12 students and first-year bachelor students outside the named law and postgraduate bands should not force this form.

Selection
- An internal committee of officers scrutinises and shortlists the applications.
- The most suitable students are identified. The guidelines do not print a written exam.
- Selected students are offered the internship 15 days before the start. For a 1 December 2026 start, that points to about 16 November 2026, using the same 15-day rule as the printed January example.
- Number of seats that month depends on requests and on what IBBI needs. There is no printed promise that every complete form is taken.
How to prepare (free, official)
- IBBI Internship Guidelines, 2023, with the annexure form
- ibbi.gov.in — read one public order or the Code overview so the 500-word note is about insolvency, not a generic essay.
- IBBI guidelines index — the internship guidelines sit in this list as the 14 November 2023 item.
How to apply without getting played
- Download the annexure from the 2023 PDF. Do not use a Google Form titled “IBBI intern 2026”.

- Attach the student identity card and a recent passport-size colour photograph.
- Email the full set to intern@ibbi.gov.in so it reaches by 1 November 2026. Keep the sent-mail proof. There is no printed fee.
