Indian Coast Guard CGEPT 2027 is the enrolled-person intake for batches CGEPT-01/27 and CGEPT-02/27. The Coast Guard Headquarters recruitment page, updated 6 October 2026, says registration was scheduled to commence on 6 October 2026 and that candidates must apply on ssc.gov.in. The HQ note — registration circular PDF — is a start notice, not the full vacancy table. Last date used on this card is 21 October 2026, the closing date printed on the SSC-linked public copy of this batch. Confirm the clock on ssc.gov.in before you pay.

What the Indian Coast Guard actually does

The Indian Coast Guard is an armed force under the Ministry of Defence. It works at sea: search and rescue, protection of offshore and coastal assets, and maritime law enforcement. Enrolled persons are the sailor-level cadre. Navik (General Duty) is the general seagoing entry. Yantrik is the technical entry (mechanical, electrical or electronics). Navik (Domestic Branch) and Hygienist are support entries named on this batch’s SSC notice. Training is long. Posting is wherever the Coast Guard sends you, including ships. This is not a desk job in your home city.

What kind of role this Indian Coast Guard CGEPT 2027 is

This is a uniformed enrolled-person recruitment, conducted through the Staff Selection Commission. The HQ circular dated 5 October 2026 does not print a pay matrix. Public copies of the SSC notice for these batches place the starting pay in the Level-3 band used for Navik and Yantrik. The SSC notice wins if those copies differ. Service liability is all-India. Selection is a written test, then physical and medical standards, then document verification. Failing the physical or medical standard ends the candidature even if the written score is high.

Who should apply — and who should skip

Apply if you are in the date-of-birth window for the batch and post you pick, and you have the matching school or diploma qualification. Navik (GD) on this batch’s SSC notice asks for Class 12 with Mathematics and Physics. Yantrik asks for a diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics and Telecommunication, with the Class 10 or 12 base the notice prints. Navik (Domestic Branch) is a Class 10 entry. Hygienist has its own Class 10 or ITI line. Women candidates should check which posts on this batch are open to women — Navik (GD) has a women’s row; Yantrik on batch 01/2027 is listed as male on the public vacancy table.

Skip if you cannot meet swimming, eyesight or the height and chest standards on the SSC notice. Skip if you only want a shore posting. Skip if a coaching centre asks you to pay a “Coast Guard registration fee” into a personal account. The only apply site named by Headquarters is ssc.gov.in.
