nit-andhra-pradesh-phd-december-session-admission-2026 is the Ph.D. (Full-Time or Part-Time) December Session AY 2026-27 call at National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh. Last date to receive the online application with documents — 28 October 2026. Apply on nitandhra.ac.in/PhD/. Detailed advertisement — nitandhra.ac.in PDF.

What NIT Andhra Pradesh actually does

NIT Andhra Pradesh is an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education. It is one of the newer NITs (established 2015) and runs BTech, MTech and PhD programmes on the permanent campus at Tadepalligudem, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh. This notice is only for the December Session PhD seats of AY 2026-27 — not the June Session window already closed.

What kind of seat this is

These are research seats: full-time with Institute Assistantship, full-time externally funded (JRF/SRF), full-time sponsored, and part-time for working candidates. Campus is at Tadepalligudem. Institute Assistantship is available only on the full-time category and only for the seats the department allots after selection.

Who should apply — and who should skip

Apply if you have a relevant Master’s with at least 60% or 6.5 CGPA (or the relaxed line for SC/ST/PwD), or a high-CGPA BE/BTech from a centrally funded institute for the Institute Assistantship direct route, and you can travel to NIT Andhra Pradesh for the written test and interview in early November.

Skip if you want a taught MTech seat, you do not meet the 6.5/6.0 CGPA line, you cannot appear in person for the test (required if you do not hold GATE/NET), or you are looking for a pure online PhD with no campus contact.
