What IIITDM Kurnool actually does

Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing, Kurnool, is an autonomous Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education. The campus teaches engineering with a design and manufacturing tilt. This window is a PhD registration for January 2027, full-time and part-time, not a B.Tech seat and not a project internship.

If PhD fees and GATE sound mixed up, use this split. The application fee is Rs 500 or Rs 250. The monthly amount, if you get an MoE fellowship, starts at Rs 37,000. GATE or NET can skip the written test. It does not skip the interview.

Full-time and part-time PhD in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Sciences (Physics, Mathematics, English). Who should apply — and who should skip

Apply full-time if your Master’s (M.E./M.Tech/M.S. by research, or M.Sc./M.A. for Sciences) is at CGPA 7.5/10 or 70% for UR/OBC/EWS, or CGPA 7.0/10 or 65% for SC/ST/PwD, in the branch the department brochure names. A four-year B.Tech from a CFTI/CFI can apply at CGPA 7.5/10 (UR/OBC/EWS) or 7.0/10 (SC/ST/PwD) without GATE. A non-CFTI bachelor’s needs a valid GATE score and CGPA 7.0/10 or 65% (UR/OBC/EWS), or 6.5/10 or 60% (SC/ST/PwD), on the CSE brochure.

Apply part-time only with an NOC. The brochure wants permanent staff at Scientist-C / Assistant Professor / Lecturer level in government R&D, government organisations, PSUs or state undertakings, with at least 3 years, or private R&D employers that are at least 5 years old and in CII/ASSOCHAM or equivalent, with 3 years, or IIITDM Kurnool staff with 3 years. Part-time marks on the CSE brochure: first class and 60% or CGPA 6.5/10 (UR/OBC/EWS) and CGPA 6.0/10 or 55% (SC/ST/PwD) in UG and PG. B.Tech-only part-time needs at least 6 years and the same mark bar.

1. Shortlist on minimum qualifications and any extra department cut.
2. Written test if you do not have GATE or NET. Brochure prints 50 MCQ, 2 marks each, minus 0.5, cut-off on GATE 2026 standards, CBT or offline. Syllabus: GATE 2026 in the subject.
3. Interview. GATE or NET applicants can be called straight to interview.
4. Final list uses academic record plus test and/or interview. Community certificate for SC/ST/OBC/EWS. Doctor’s certificate for PwD.

How to apply without getting played

1. Open the department brochure before the Google Form. One form does not cover every department.
2. Pay Rs 500 or Rs 250 only through the institute process. The fee is non-refundable.
3. Fellowship of Rs 37,000 is not the application fee. Do not transfer that amount to a person.

MoE fellowship printed: Rs 37,000 per month in year 1 and year 2 (JRF) and Rs 42,000 in years 3 to 5 (SRF), with HRA for married scholars living off campus, as per MoE rules. Project assistantship follows the funding agency. Regular MoE scholars can claim up to Rs 2 lakh for a conference, with the country groups printed in the brochure.
