IISER Kolkata PhD admission Spring 2027 — portal open, department close dates

IISER Kolkata PhD admission Spring 2027 is live on the institute portal. Apply on apply.iiserkol.ac.in/phd. The application link printed on that page is apply.iiserkol.ac.in/app/page/s. A single last date for every department is not printed. The important-dates page says the application portal closes as per the department advertisement. Portal open dates printed: 17 September 2026 and 20 September 2026. Do not pay a coaching site. The fee on the portal is Rs 200 or Rs 100.

What IISER Kolkata actually does

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata is a Ministry of Education institute in Mohanpur, Nadia, West Bengal. BS-MS students enter through the IISER aptitude channel. This page is the PhD round for Spring 2027. It is a research seat, not a hostel BSc seat and not an internship.

Spring 2027 means the batch that registers at the end of December 2026, not the July batch. IISER Bhopal, Tirupati and Berhampur already have their own January 2027 pages on Campus Reality. Kolkata is a different campus and a different form.

What kind of seat this is

PhD in Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Computational and Data Sciences, Earth Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, and Physical Sciences. The portal prints a clear note: Space Sciences will not advertise for PhD admission in Spring 2027. Seat count is not printed. Reservations follow Government of India norms. Registration date printed: 30 December 2026. Orientation: 31 December 2026.

Who should apply — and who should skip

Apply if you want a PhD in one of the seven disciplines named above and you have read that department’s advertisement. The portal does not print a mark bar, a GATE rule, or an age cap. Those lines, if they exist, are on the department ad. Department mail ids on the portal: dbs.phd.application@iiserkol.ac.in, dcs.phd.application@iiserkol.ac.in, cds.phd.application@iiserkol.ac.in, des.phd.application@iiserkol.ac.in, dms.phd.application@iiserkol.ac.in, dps.phd.application@iiserkol.ac.in.

Skip if you want Space Sciences this round. The portal says it will not advertise. Skip if you are about to pay more than Rs 200. Skip if you already applied to IISER Bhopal or Tirupati and think this is the same form. It is not.

Dates and fee

The deadline field on this Campus Reality card uses 22 November 2026 because that is the last date printed on the interview window, not because the portal called it the application close. Confirm the department ad before you treat 22 November as your form deadline.
