IIT JAM 2027 registration — apply by 19 October

Last updated: 13 Oct 2026

IIT JAM 2027 registration admission is open. Last date — 19 October 2026. Apply on jam.iitkgp.ac.in (JOAPS portal). Organising institute — IIT Kharagpur.

What JAM actually does

The Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) is the entrance used by IITs and a few other institutes for M.Sc., joint M.Sc.-PhD, dual degree and related postgraduate science programmes. IIT Kharagpur is organising the 2027 cycle.

What kind of seat this is

This is the registration for the national entrance, not a direct seat. Qualifying JAM does not by itself allot a seat. You still go through the later admission process.

Who should apply — and who should skip

Apply if you have (or will have) the bachelor’s degree that the JAM 2027 brochure lists for the test paper you want, and you aim for M.Sc. or related programmes at the IITs.

Skip if you want B.Tech (that is JEE/JoSAA), or if a coaching site is asking you to pay them to “register on your behalf.” Use only jam.iitkgp.ac.in.
