What Defence Research and Development Establishment does
Defence Research and Development Establishment (DRDE) at Gwalior is a DRDO laboratory under the Ministry of Defence. It works on defence research in biological, chemical and related engineering areas. The paid internship scheme lets enrolled students join R&D work for six months starting from 1 January 2027. It is not a job and does not give any right to absorption later.
What kind of role this is
This is a paid internship of minimum six months for students currently pursuing graduate or postgraduate courses. Location is DRDE, Jhansi Road, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. No boarding or lodging is provided. No TA/DA for joining. Electronics items like phones, pen drives or laptops are not allowed inside the campus.

2. Chemical Sciences — Rs 5,000 per month 3 Vacancies

Pursuing M.Sc. or equivalent (3rd/4th semester) in Chemistry (Organic Chemistry / Inorganic Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry). 75% and above marks or CGPA ≥ 7.5 from AICTE/UGC approved college/university. 3. Engineering — Rs 5,000 per month 2 Vacancies
Eligibility criteria
Pursuing B.E./B.Tech (7th/8th semester) in Electronics / Mechanical Engineering / Information Technology / Computer Sciences. 75% and above marks or CGPA ≥ 7.5 from AICTE/UGC approved college/university. Age below 28 years as on 14 November 2026. Recent referral/sponsorship letter from college required.
Total vacancies — 8. Stipend is fixed at Rs 5,000 per month, paid in two equal instalments of Rs 15,000 after 3 months and Rs 15,000 after 6 months.
